Florence Nightingale told us that nurses must find a unique balance between using their heads and their hearts, finding the balance between the science of nursing and the art of  nursing in order to provide the highest quality care. The science of school nursing is about skills and tasks, while the art of school nursing is centered around the human connections we make with our students, staff, parents and community, all of which contribute to being an effective successful school nurse. This site is dedicated to school nurses everywhere who are making our schools, communities and the world a better place by bringing their professional skills and their hearts to their school nurse practice.
